点评:I’ve been visiting Huishinish for over 40 years since I was a kid and have always looked forward to it. A beautiful quiet beach where you happily spend a day without a care or disturbance except for the odd local or a sheep or two. This was still the case only short few years ago. Now is a different matter. On my latest visit the place was crammed. The Visitor centre had been built when I last visited but it was quiet and we were able to park easily on the new car park. This time it was full of campervans and motorhomes, every inch of road was full of cars even the turning circle which had been built. It was like visiting a theme park. Yes it’s a beautiful place to stay overnight but that doesn’t mean you have to. The introduction of facilities has created an issue that has in turn ruined the place. God knows what the small community of locals think of this influx. Yes I sound grumpy and people are entitled to visit as I have but the sheer amount of change in both visitor numbers coupled with campers and vehicles has completely ruined it. Those visitors who think it’s beautiful now would be gobsmacked if they’d visited even 10 years ago. Sad.
