Decently Sized Museum, but More Tailored to Kids

点评：We went during a Saturday after visiting the Butterfly Biosphere. The tickets that allow you to visit multiple attractions makes this place worth it in price, in my opinion, but by itself isn't as good for large parties. I'd recommend bring ear plugs/protection because the Jurassic Jungle is in the same building and we encountered many scream-y children during our visit.
The exhibits are pretty well made where it feels like you're looking into a "real wildlife enclosure" like you'd see in an aquarium or zoo. The fossils as well look amazing and they also try to put it in natural/native environments. It can make things feel rather immersive.
There is also the Paleo Studio, which is fun for children and adults. It's where you can pick a fossil and use a "real tool paleontologists use" (it's a Dremel that blows air out of it) to excavate your own dinosaur fossil that you get to keep. I will say that the day we went, we wanted to do a Mosasaurs tooth, but they were out of stock. I would recommend calling in advance to make sure the fossils you want to do are available the day you arrive. Some fossils are also more time consuming to dig out than others, and so you could send an hour or more just excavating. If you have children with a bit better attention spans, then you shouldn't have to worry, but if you think they'll get bored of the process, stick to a cheap fish as that'll take 15 to 30 minutes.
As for the selection options, the fish fossils really weren't that great. That might not matter to young kids, as the experience is more cool than the piece. However, for adults wanting a cool keepsake, we got lucky with the pieces we chose. I did a fish body and my husband did a fish head. They really didn't have many cool fish pieces as it seems like they get a bulk order and you hope some good pieces are in it. Together, they look cool, but we didn't get to know what kind of fish it was or how old the fossils are.
