We left today. That was the only problem.
Atop a mountain in beautiful Cilento and within a picturesque mountain village, this place exceeded all our expectations. The renovation has been extremely tastefully done - our room had all the mod cons one would want, while exposing all the stunning brick and wood work of the castle setting.
Exceptional views to be had from the rooftop and pools, panoramas over the mountains and down to the sea. Some place for a sunset cocktail.
Meals, particularly in the Bistro were memorable - really refined cooking, mainly local ingredients, superb wine selection.
Breakfast was simple, natural ingredients and really beautifully set out.
I'd save the last word for the most striking aspect - the staff. In our 3 day stay we were treated by everyone we met with the very best of professional courtesy, good cheer and welcome. They could not have done more to make our stay more comfortable or pleasant - and we were traveling with all the challenges of an 8 month baby. Top class staff and my wife and I both agreed how apparent it was.
First class place.
So, it's not just recommended, you'd be a fool to miss it.
