点评:This presidential estate is free admission because it is run by the National Park Service. It’s in the middle of Mentor, Ohio and a residential area. The parking is free and there’s a visitor center with a museum and an orientation video in a theater which is great to tour.
And then you meet up with a docent and they take you to the presidential house. The day we went it rained, so it’s a bit hard to explore the grounds because there’s other outbuildings and such but inside the house, you can take photos and keep in mind. It’s very dark and you do have to navigate stairs. They do not have an elevator in this house. The house has some roped off areas that you can’t continue to explore in the rooms, but you can view everything, all the artifacts and some things are reproduction. Something aren’t either. Some things are original, which is really cool. Do not miss President Garfield’s safe room and his special desk.
We would go back to see this because you always miss things in a tour group because there are distractions and you always learn something new. We would totally go back.
