点评:It was my husband's desire to visit this center. When we entered the room with the life-size, fully-loaded, hand crafted boat with a hand-crafted trailer with wheels underneath and several strong men trying to push it up a cliff I became very interested in what I could learn from this Interpretive Center. The other most alarming fact was the start of their journey was traveling AGAINST the current of the Missouri.
As one meanders throughout the exhibits, one experiences Lewis and Clark's journey along the Missouri. Along the way one is introduced to the many indigenous people encountered. One learns about their indigenous names and cultures as well as the names Americans called them. While walking the path, there are three films you are invited to watch in the large movie theater. We were engaged for over three hours. Their lives after their journey ends is also shared. One of the explorers life thrives and time is taken to prepare the journals for publication. Do you know who that is?
