Enjoyed day with disabled child until returning to car and found penalty notice

点评：Came to Bridlington from Republic of Ireland for holiday with disabled child after first checking U.K. gov website to check we could use child’s blue badge for parking in disable space it stated we could. We parked in Bridlington council car park payed £6.40 fee placed it next to blue badge took child down to beach on return found a penalty notice stating we had contravention had occurred and had to pay a penalty charge. When contacting Bridlington council they said we could not use the badge because UK is no longer in the EU and we would have to park in ordinary space we have to lift our child out of the car and place in wheelchair as parking spaces are narrow it would be difficult to do this. We contacted nearby borough to see if they accepted the blue badge they said yes they did and were amazed we had been issued a penalty notice by EastRiding County Council.
Needless to say we will not be returning to Bridlington but go to other areas that accept the blue badge
