点评：What a beautiful little spot of Minnesota. My partner and I stayed at backpacker's site #2 and absolutely loved it. The town of Ely provides a beautiful gateway to the Boundary Waters, and passing through on our way to the park was a great welcome.
The park itself is a handful of miles off the main highway, so it's already pretty secluded. The backpacking sites are even more so. The required 1.2ish mile hike to site #2 did make us work for it. The trail, which laps around Blueberry Lake, is hilly and rocky the whole way. It is definitely worth the venture, though I wouldn't enjoy having to hike further to sites 3 and 4, especially carrying gear and firewood. The silence, solitude and view of Blueberry lake was lovely, the echo of loons and owls across water throughout the night was magical. The bugs, though very busy and present during the day, completely disappeared at night while sitting around the campfire. We had no run ins with bears, but keeping items in the food locker while having bear spray close by provided adequate security and assurance. We will surely come back and stay again at site #2, try backpacking site #1, or claim a drive-up campsite. Highly recommend!
