点评：We visited this site on our way to Mont-Saint-MIchel and we were very glad we did.
It is a very peaceful place now but in WWII it was the site of one of the most important battles of the war.
The chapel is perched on top of the "Butte de Mont-Michel." Outside the church, a monument and a plaque commemorate the American soldiers of the 30th Infantry Division and 35th Infantry Division who were killed while holding the hill on action that led to the defeat of German Operation Luttich and subsequently to the crushing Allied victory in the battle of the Falaise Gap.
The viewing platform behind the Chapelle offers a spectacular 270 degree view. On a clear day. you can see Mont-Saint Michele from here.
