点评：Absolutely stunning hike. We were able to get a willy jeep for Salento town there and back. Cost 22,000 COP for two of us. The jeep ride up was so cool. Saw amazing views. Would recommend riding on the back of the jeep. You get to see it way more. The jeeps run every hour on the half an hour up till 6:30pm. I recommend going early to beat the crowds and it's more likely to rain later in the day.
We did the lower hike that was considered easier. It's called the Cocora valley loop. It takes 4 hours to complete. It took us a bit longer as we were stopping to look at wildlife and take pictures. We did the walk counter clockwise, which meant a lot of climbing up hill, but the walk down through the valley then was amazing. So worth it doing it this way. Get the hard bit over first and then have time to enjoy the views and the valley of the wax palms. It's very rewarding.
Need to wear proper trail shoes, we also brought hiking poles which were very helpful. Bring snacks and water as there are not many places to stop and eat along the trail. Also bring rain gear, it's very changeable.
