Beautiful Waterfall With Heavy Flow in Monsoon

点评：Jhari Falls is one of the major falls in Chikmagalur and is best explored during the months of monsoon. This was sort of our first stop during our Chikmagalur. We parked our cab in the main road and had to take a jeep. It usually costs Rs 400 to rent a whole jeep for 5 and even if you are less number of people, you are expected to pay the full price. We were only 2 people and we luckily got another couple who agreed to share the jeep with us and to split the fare.
We finally booked a jeep for 4 people and started our off roading journey. This must have been one of the most dangerous off-roading experiences of my life and luckily our driver was experienced enough to make us reach safely to the falls. We had to hike for a few hundred metres through the forest to finally reach the falls. The first glimpse of the falls made our jaw drop.
The water was gushing on the rocks in full force and splashing the water to quite a few metres around. It was a challenge to take a pic standing in front of the falls and not get wet. Carrying of raincoats is a must in case you want to protect your clothes from getting wet. You can also carry spare clothes and take a dip at the plunge pool. However, I did not observe any changing rooms, so it might be a challenge for ladies to change wet clothes. Another challenging thing was the crowd, the space being small and the crowd being huge was making it difficult to move around.
This waterfalls was indeed one of our highlights of our Chikmagalur trip and I would highly recommend people to visit it in monsoons. Try to visit it early during the day to avoid crowd and wear shoes with proper grip.
