A Very Nice Museum to visit to view American Art Collections

点评：A very nice small version museum with notable works of art. The collections all seem to be very serene and beautiful in their presentation throughout, rather than strange, disturbing or disruptive as in other museums. As a result it gives the visitor a positive impression, almost therapeutic. It's a great museum to spend a couple hours browsing. There is small children's toy collection on the Ground Floor. Would love for this to be expanded for Christmas in a larger exhibition. The antique toys are all fascinating. The first floor features much of the main collections of colonial furniture and decorative arts, American paintings and sculpture. The American impressionists and post impressionist works were great examples and included famous artist like Hassam and Sargent - very beautiful and important works. The galleries that touch on periods of art nouveau and deco also were nicely curated and displayed. The upstairs featured new exhibits that were okay. More appealing was the Tiffany gallery with many examples of the stained glass and lighting and decorative arts Louis Comfort Tiffany created. The price is okay. The parking is free. Unfortunately there is no cafe. There is a nice research library. The museum features park areas with sculpture in a very serene setting.
