点评:Last time I was here was 2001. It’s so different from what I remember. We were disappointed the house was under renovation, we had to pay full price to be quickly whisked through the first room, to not see anything in the middle or upstairs. Sat in the back deck which is beautiful. We did finally get someone who told us some information on George Washington’s study, and the kitchen, but everything before that… nothing. Blink as they are quickly ushering you through and you miss it.
Other than that, it was nice. So much to see and do. My daughter loved checking out all the other buildings and talking to the blacksmith who were so nice in explaining things to her. The museum is very well done, and the staff around the grounds were very nice and informative.
We did grab lunch at the “food truck” across from the house, the food was limited, the girl working behind the counter was sitting in the way back on her phone so at first we didn’t think it was open, then she seemed annoyed anytime we asked for something (condiments for our sandwiches or a cup to pour water in for kids to share from the bottle I bought from her) and we were going to get a hot pretzel with cheese, but she said they were still cold, none of the hot food was good- the only thing we were offered was cold foods and bags of chips.
