We really enjoyed our visit to the Derby Museum! There was plenty of free parking, which made arrival stress-free. We had pre-purchased our tickets a few days in advance, and check-in at the front desk was quick and easy. The staff gave us a map and let us know when and where to meet for the Churchill Downs tour.
The museum itself was clean and well-kept, with restrooms available. The exhibits were informative and engaging—definitely worth exploring both floors. I especially loved the 360° theater room—it was a really cool and immersive experience!
The Churchill Downs tour was a highlight. It was my first time seeing the grounds in person, and I was amazed at how massive and iconic it felt.
The gift shop was small but had a few nice souvenirs.
All in all, a visit to the Derby Museum is absolutely worth it—educational, well-organized, and a unique look into a big part of Kentucky's history!
