点评:Parking can be a problem, but don’t give up. I parked on Flora Way behind the Arboretum. You walk in the back way. It’s near the Hebrew Rehabilitation. When you enter it, it’s like entering another world. In fact, in the back way, there are tall pines and a little stream that runs in of them, and there are a few benches along the way in case you get tired. All in all that area reminds me of Canada. It’s less inhabited than going through the front where the Hunniwell center is. What I love about this place is that you will see people from all over the world there. Mothers and fathers strolling with their babies are a common sight. But many people go solo like I do. I sit on a bench when I’m tired and write in my journal and sometimes some people and sit near me and we chat up. There are so many trees and flowers to see that I wouldn’t have room to discuss them.
Lilac Sunday is a big event there on Mother’s Day. But if you don’t like a lot of crowds, don’t go. Instead, go the week before or the week after, and you will still see the lovely lilacs.
This was one of the first places my husband took me when we started dating in 1969. He recently passed away and I often go and still see the bench where he put its arm around , kissed me and told me he loved me.
