点评：If you’re a birding nerd, you might enjoy the 33 Audubon paintings hanging throughout the mansion. I toured with a 6th grader and an iPhone, so I’d encourage any tour guide to remember to think of ways to connect tangible historic things to the modern human experience. So the inside was nice and sterile with all the antique things, which being a male, I preferred the historic man cave with all the arrowheads. But I expected more on the grounds around the mansion, besides being well manicured, not one hunting dog, Jersey cow, or wild turkey was seen roaming the grounds. I understand it costs a lot to maintain live animals, but try and represent your many themes by maybe using yard statues and artists to place the historic animals used on the grounds, like the number of horse pictures hung on the hallway to the main social room. The sixth grader I was with would’ve loved taking her picture with a fake hunting dog or jersey cow statue, over an empty dog pen or grassy field. I enjoyed experiencing the glittering turkey artist’s work, which made me think of owning more than a Hudson Valley piece, but strive in being creative with history themes to not go the way of the ivory billed.
