点评：I am a Civil War buff so I loved my visit and strongly recommend for other like-minded travelers. The Siege of Vicksburg was concurrent with the Battle of Gettysburg and was (in my opinion) even more consequential for the fortunes of the war. It wasn’t as symbolic simply because President Lincoln gave his address at Gettysburg (much closer to D.C.) and Gettysburg was on union soil. The park management did an excellent job preserving and enhancing the battlegrounds. It’s all driveable, every day, though the visitor’s office is only open five days a week (check the schedule before you visit). There’s a lot of storyboards and a good movie in the visitor center so I recommend you go there first before taking the drive.
My personal favorite feature was standing in the same spot where Generals Grant and Pemberton negotiated the surrender.
