点评：If you are in the area, spend a few minutes quietly contemplating the six million Jews who died during the Holocaust.
It is a simple memorial but it makes you stop and think of the atrocities committed on a group of people. The glass walls of the display are inscribed with the identification numbers of each victim, and each stretches 50 feet high giving an overwhelming sense of the multitudes. Each display also Carrie's a quote from a survivor, and there are a few facts about the Holocaust sprinkled throughout.
I cannot find anything on the site's website about the hot steam that is vented from the ground of each display but I assume it is to remind us of the gas chambers and the uncomfortableness that was present at the concentration camps.
The memorial is located steps from America's oldest, continuously operating tavern since 1795 (Bell in Hand) as well as one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the US since 1826 (Union Oyster House).
