点评:My family and I spent a week in the island (4 kids= 2 teens and 2 younger ones). My husband and I did some fishing off the pier one day. We caught quite a few nice ones, saw a sea turtle and a manatee at that time. Yes, you need to pay $15 to pass the gate. The lady and her father, who were working that morning, were very nice and friendly. You get a wristband, so technically you could go out and come back that same day (that is what some where doing). We left to get the kids and I tried to go back later in the evening and take my oldest child fishing, but the guy that was working then was super rude and even though it was not 7 yet and it wasn’t to crowded, he did not let us in (so I pocketed the $15 i had ready for my kid and went to had fun in the water). We also watched the sunrise and sunset as a family (up to the gate), saw a pod of dolphins at sunrise! It is a nice place, not a beach access, but the kids had fun playing in the water/sandy area (entering through the parking lot). I will go back since we like fishing, but will wait for the nice friendly gate workers.
