C C Livingston was rude and contemptuous.
Averasboro Battlefield & Museum的点评
点评：My son is a history enthusiast and loves all things civil war. We ventured to this area to metal detect in hopes of recovering some relics, much like those donated and on display in this museum. We researched the area and located a property owner of vacant farm land near the battle site and found her address through the tax records. We made contact with this lady, who was very polite and respectful and asked that we speak to CC Livingston for permission. My son and I do not trespass nor venture onto private property without permission. We then decided to check out the local museum about the Averasboro battle. The gentleman working was very hospitable and helpful. He took the time to share knowledge about the history of the event and gave us a brief tour of the facility. CC Livingston arrived a short time later and confronted my son and I about making contact with his elderly mother in law about attempting to gain permission. In the presence of my teenage son and an elementary aged girl, he angrily challenged us about trying to do the right thing by seeking out property owners for permission. I’ve never seen someone react so angrily and with such hostility as this man. He then berated us about our woeful decision and then claimed to have exclusive dominion over the lands surrounding. I am simply trying to keep an aspiring archeologist and historian passionate about the pursuit of knowledge and it’s people like this that ruin it. I will never support this museum nor anything CC Livingston is involved, whether through donation of finds or monetary contributions.
