点评：The Rove offers a stand-out tasting experience, especially if you go on a weekday afternoon, when the tourists aren’t around. Yes, the wines are excellent. But the Rove’s competitive advantage is also its staff. The afternoon of October 28th, two staffers walked me through a flight of wines. They offered insights about them in a friendly, conversational way. I’m not stupid when it comes to wines, but I’m unfamiliar with them (I’m a Pabst drinker). So I was glad for the chance to talk things over with them while sampling the wines.
If you’re not sure what you want, try the Connoisseur Flight. Some may consider it pricey (four glasses, $24). But it’s a representative selection of Rove wines which will help you zero in on what you like. It led me to buy six bottles which my wife and friends will certainly enjoy on our next special occasion.
