点评：Absolutely super place to visit. Firstly, do not use Google maps to get there because that will take you to the very rough and narrow back lane and like us you will end up having to drive through the courtyard. Luckily they were good-humoured about it! The actual entrance is off the A37/B3147 and despite what some of the wet-wipe earlier reviews say, the drive is not rough whatsoever.
We had free entry through the excellent Historic Houses Association, although the entry fee for non-members is actually very reasonable compared to the £20 plus to see some less interesting polished-up fake do not touch anything and be indoctrinated with our agenda NT property. Anyway, enough with the ranting...
The tour is self-guided with a helpful booklet giving information about the rooms and buildings. There are plenty of rooms to see on two floors as well as interesting features outside. There is a lovely timeless atmosphere about the place and it is presented in a very original and honest way. There are some signs of maintenance needed here and there but that just illustrates the difficulty faced by owners of unique and demanding properties like this. It is amazing how a house like this, that has such architectural and historical importance is so little known. The carved wooden door frames and other details are absolutely exquisite. Very glad that we got to see the house and we'd happily go back again. The whiny reviews that some people have given this extraordinary house are totally unjustified.
The only suggestion I would make is that the owners sort out the website. It looks like somebody spent 15 minutes building the site and then gave up on it...

我唯一的建议是，业主应该整理一下网站。看起来好像有人花了15分钟建了个网站，然后就放弃了……
