Highlight of our Road to Hana Drive!
Honokalani Black Sand Beach的点评
点评：There is so much we liked about this beach. The black sand/pebbles, of course. It has a nice aesthetic.
We also liked how it’s like a cove. As not confident swimmers, this felt safe, especially with no lifeguard station. People spanned the width of the cove and as waves came in, everyone would kind of ride it. It reminded me of wave pools.
When approaching the beach, the lava tube is to the right. You have to duck to walk through. It’s short and there is an overhead opening further in. There isn’t beach access at the end, at least the tide didn’t allow for one.
We didn’t hike up the left side to see the blow hole. We’ve left something to do there on a future trip!
Be sure to make a reservation in advance. We opted for one in the afternoon on our return trip of the road to Hāna. Our understanding is that same-day reservations are not available.
