点评:We have not been here since our girls were young. I had been here as a youth and I love trains. As a train lover, I was a little disappointed in that the village hasn't really progressed as far as the trains and memorabilia. It pretty much is all the same. But, I still love it and any youngster would too. There is plenty to keep them occupied and run around. There are many new buildings on site but probably because of funds, they have not been enhanced with memorabilia. The small gauge train ride is OK but kids will get a kick out of it (ride in the old car, not the flatbed). The expanded store includes antiques (of a sort) and some train-related items where prices are about what you would expect. Nothing of note in the store. THE REAL STAR of the village is the restored vehicles in the garage. The gas and oil odors are so nostalgic, not obtrusive. They are beautifully restored with care and look pretty close to the day they were new. The care and pride by the owners/restorers is evident. Some (many cars and trucks that my dad used to talk about) real old-timers in here. Some of the caretakers are on site which shows their dedication, by being there, and they can fully explain the origins, history, etc of the vehicles. Each vehicle has a placard of explanation and I was pleasantly surprised by my recall of what each vehicle was and also my relating of facts of use, etc to my wife. The exhibit was truly amazing and world class quality, not just a roadside attraction. The museum is free but it costs to ride the train, This location is very donation reliant so the fact that it is still here (I first visited as a pre-teen, since I can't remember exactly at this age) shows this museum is truly a labor of love. BTW, a shout out to the older woman selling train tickets who made my day with her enthusiasm hearing about how we not only brought our daughters (both now in their 30's) here but how I visited as a youth with my parents. It was a magical trip down memory lane.
