Tasting was ok, but don't purchase bottles here!
Sand Castle Winery的点评
点评：Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon in late July. Had been planning on hitting a different winery, but they'd closed due to the weather forecast. Not a problem for Sand Castle, located on top of a ridge overlooking the Delaware.
Tasting experience was so-so - same glass for everything, felt a bit rushed, no real time to rinse the palette between varieties. Nice touch with some edible accompaniments for some wines. Felt like the bartender knew a lot he wasn't telling us.
No outstanding wines among the lengthy taste list, but some quite pleasant.
However, my friend bought 16 (mixed) bottles to take home - and so far, at least, they don't seem to reflect the tasting experience. The majority appear to be from 2012-2016 and the rose and dry Riesling in particular tasted very different (in a negative way) from the in-Castle experience. We ended up pouring the majority down the sink. It's as if they thought they could divest their old (perhaps not even temperature-controlled) inventory on unsuspecting visitors.
