点评：This is a nice botanical garden with a strong emphasis on plants that grow well in a coastal California climate: lots of plants from the world's other Mediterranean climates. Much like other botanical gardens in coastal southern and central California, this makes for an interesting visit as you can grow a lot in California. The standard of maintenance is sort of mediocre (many parts of the garden will feel overgrown) and there's not a strong design element here as there tends to be in some other gardens; things are kind of "natural."
From what I can tell, this is the primary botanical garden in northern California and it's probably great for locals. If you're a visitor from out of town, I would prioritize the Japanese garden and the conservatory of flowers when visiting Golden Gate Park. (And if you're visiting in March - early May, go to Filoli.)
