点评:So whereas Benidorm is even worse than what it's made out to be, Calpe appears to be where the "posh chavs" go on holiday! Or basically those from Essex and Liverpool who can't quite afford Marbella but have managed to earn enough to afford a slightly better lifestyle and holiday expectation!
While this town clearly still has far too much of a British influence (and too many Brits for that matter), it was a nice area to walk around both through the town (the older parts especially further up the hill) and along the promenade and seafront, with a huge array of shops, restaurants and bars which are far nicer than nearby towns. On top of this, it is clear the local council take pride in, for the most part, keeping their tourist town clean and looking appealing and money is clearly being spent to invest in the area, and you will see huge apartment and hospitality developments springing up all over the area which look quite upmarket and are considerably more expensive than nearby Benidorm.
I would therefore definitely recommend coming to Calpe for a day trip and/or evening out for dinner as there is so much choice. The views along the coastline are also worth the trip alone, especially the famous "rock" of Calpe.
