点评:This museum is in the upscale west end of Hartford. You can expect exhibits to include themes of daily life, clothing, transportation, sports and leisure, work, and over 60 inn and tavern signs. In addition to the permanent, there were two temporary exhibits: Wide Awakes: Campaigning for Lincoln and Coffee: A Connecticut Story. I was well aware of the Wide Awakes, though others with me were not. It was well presented. It is a smaller exhibit and requires reading. Unfortunately, some noisy patrons made concentrating difficult. The Coffee exhibit was about Connecticut’s love for coffee over the years, spread across several rooms. Personally, I found it disappointing as there was little new to learn; it wasn’t what I anticipated. The exhibits are primarily on the second floor. I would allow a minimum of two hours to see everything. The price of admission is reasonable and comparable to other area museums. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free on-site parking. The museum is completely accessible including restrooms. I would recommend going at least once, though I doubt I would return in the near future.
