点评：We did the 70 minute Living History Tour with a costumed actor playing the role of a housekeeper who worked for the Twains. She did a very good job setting the stage of what it was like working there and giving a history of the house. You kind of have to be in the mood to play along with the role playing. If you're less interested in that kind of thing, the regular tour would probably be better for you. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to take photos or videos inside the house.
Here are some practical details: There is a large parking lot and a very modern visitor's center, with a great gift shop. Definitely buy your tour tickets ahead of time online, because they sell out. We went on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and all the day's tours were already sold out first thing in the morning. Luckily, I had booked a couple weeks in advance. In the visitors center there is a 25 minute film by Ken Burns that gives a historical overview of Mark Twain's life, and there is a small exhibit area with his history and interesting artifacts (books, personal articles, and the Paige Compositor printing device that Twain invested in and lost most of his money). We spent about 3 hours there.
