A great thing to do on a summers day
Harwich Harbour Foot Ferry的点评
点评：We sat at the back of the boat on the way from Harwich to Felixstowe and got sprayed a little. The wind got up quite a bit for the return journey 3 hours later and it was a bit 'lumpy' (as we were told by the crew) for the first part of the journey. The crew were very good telling people to avoid sitting at the front of the boat and closed the doors so those of us sitting inside wouldn't get wet. It is easy to get on and off this boat, although it does involve steps, do not suitable for those with limited mobility or wheelchair users. Sounds grim, but would be an idea if sick bags were available for those that may need them- there were a couple of green faces on the return journey. The crew are great though, helping people with bicycles and pushchairs and generally make you feel looked after. The boat is clean and serviceable for its job, although very 'no frills'. The journey itself is probably my favourite trip ever as I'm quite geeky when it comes to container vessels - I check port of Felixstowe website to check what boats are due in before I book the ferry tickets! To sum it up, it's a great 15 minute journey costing just £6 one way for an adult. Once you've arrived at Felixstowe there is a lovely little cafe, a kiosk for very good coffee and ice cream, languard fort & Felixstowe museum (check opening times), a bus service to the town (again check times) and Languard nature reserve. Everyone should do this trip at least once.
