点评:If you are visiting the famous Hot Springs in the Czech city of Karlovy Vary, you must not miss a self-guided tour of the Imperial Baths or also called the Kaiser Bad at the beginning of the Spa Capital.
Our hotel, Carlsbad Plaza was just across the street, but we had waited to visit the Imperial Spa on our second last day in Karlovy Vary, as there was so much to see and do in Karlovy Vary each day was packed with discoveries!
This ornate and richly decorated building was built on the site of a brewery and opened in 1895. It has more than a hundred baths. Most of these baths were for the numerous Hot Springs in the area, but many of the Wooden Tubs were used for a Peat Bath’s.
They had a unique method of transporting both the Hot Mineral Water and Hot Peat to the various rooms. A conveyor system was installed so all the delivery of the Hot Mineral Water and Peat were never seen, as all were originated in the large Spa’s Basement.
The tour is well worth your time as each room is clearly marked as to its original name and function. Also, in many of the smaller Spa Room made use of holograms to show what it was like during it grandeur!
