One of the BEST vineyards ever!
Crossing Vineyards and Winery的点评
点评：Out of the dozens of wineries we've enjoyed over the years, this is one of the most memorable.
Making our way to the entrance, I was impressed by the immaculate grounds and gardens. We entered to a friendly greeting by a young woman who turned out to be the daughter of their master vintner, We were offered four pre-chosen tasting flights and chose the whites and the reds, ordered a charcuterie board, and made our way to their spacious and lovely seating area.
The tasting flights are nicely presented and the pours are generous--I'd say 3-4 ounces each. We made our way through the whites, then the reds, and all were good with a clean finish. Our personal favorites were the legacy white, a Chardonnay that had a strong palate of sour apple--would be great on a warm day with a flavorful fish entree. But when we hit the reds we tasted their vintnr's select blend, and OH MY it took no prisoners!
Let's pause to note that the charcuterie board was good, with some tasty cheese, jam, almonds, dried apricots, and meats.
Normally we take away 2 or 4 bottle of our favorite wines from a tasting. Here, we got a full case including a half-dozen bottles of the vintner's select, a couple of which we will keep until winter when I make my annual sauerbraten--this is a wine that will stand up and testify against the most strongly flavored dishes! Now, of course your taste may vary--I'm pretty sure they have something here for every preference.
It was about a 45 minute drive from where we were staying, and well worth the time and gas money. If you appreciate wineries, do not miss this one!
