点评:If visiting the Manchester Vermont area this is a must do. The tour consists of three different areas: the house, the pullman railcar, and the goat farm. I believe there is another larger farm area that can be visited as wel,l but we did not opt to do this due to lack of time. A tram is provided to take visitors from place to place on the property.
The house contains some wonderful historical artifacts along with the original furnishings. We toured on our own but I bet the guided tour is great. We had a brief intro tour before entering the house that gave us an overview of what we'd see inside. The gardens outside were lovely to walk around as well.
The history of the Pullman railcar and its ties to Robert Todd Lincoln was fascinating. The restored railcar is quite someting to walk through.
Our grandkids loved the goat farm where they could pet and even brush the goats. On our visit there were baby goats to see as well.
I had never heard of Hildene and having visited I can't imagine why that is.
Plan to spend an hour or two depending on your interest in history. We had little ones with us so we were somewhat limited. I could easily have spent 2 hours or more.
