Thief Magic — Poor Decisions, Poor Accountability

点评：We saved this day for months. Great Barrier Reef with my family — a dream trip. Reef Magic turned it into one of our biggest travel disappointments.
Strike one: No warning about sea conditions.
The crew knew the open ocean would be rough. They said nothing at boarding. Not a word during the safety briefing. It was only 90 seconds before we left the protection of Cairns Harbour that someone finally announced we were entering open, unprotected water with significant wind and waves.
Ninety seconds.
By then it was too late for passengers to take seasickness medication. Instead of a calm pre-departure heads up, the crew — several of whom looked seasick themselves — spent the crossing handing out vomit bags. By the time we reached the pontoon I was too ill to get in the water. Our dream reef day was over before it started.
Strike two: Misrepresented snorkelling experience.
My children and I had never snorkelled before. We booked and paid in advance for the beginner snorkelling experience. The crew knew this. They assured us we would be fine on the longer tour.
What they did not tell us — and should have — was that the longer tour takes place in open ocean with large waves. Not the protected reef area a beginner tour implies. My children couldn’t handle the conditions. We received no snorkelling experience whatsoever.
Strike three: Kept half our money for a service never delivered.
Reef Magic’s response to providing zero snorkelling? A refund of half what we paid.
Half.
Where I come from, if you don’t receive a service, you don’t pay for it. Reef Magic apparently operates differently. They withheld half our money for an experience my family never had.
Poor communication. Misrepresented product. And when things went wrong, a company that chose to keep our money rather than make it right.
We call them Thief Magic. Plan accordingly.

但他们没有告诉我们——而且他们应该告诉我们——的是，更长的行程是在开阔的海域进行的，那里风浪很大。这与初级行程所暗示的受保护的珊瑚礁区域完全不同。我的孩子们无法适应那种环境。我们根本没体验到任何浮潜。
