点评：I absolutely love this place. It's fascinating and makes for a wonderful afternoon out. As this is a working nursery, it is important to remember that it is not open to the public except on Open Days or for pre-booked courses, group visits etc. I went on an Open Day.
It was necessary to book an arrival time slot at the time of buying my e-ticket. I understood why on arrival. It avoids too many people turning up all at once and the place being overcrowded. Parking was easy thanks to the staff guiding cars at the entrance.
I enjoyed an interesting tour with one of the nursery staff, learning all sorts of fun facts about the farm, the herbs and how to use them. It's worth lingering a while after the tour and taking in the scents and colours. I never knew there were so many different herbs!
I then listened to a talk by Jekka on how the farm is run. She gave some useful advice and tips on growing herbs in your own garden and I felt encouraged to have a go at some of the more unusual varieties.
It was possible to choose and purchase herbs in pots as well as seeds, books and useful things from the on-site shop. The staff were very helpful. I came away with a lot more than intended!
I would recommend Jekka's to anyone interested in starting out with herbs. The quality of the plants is exceptional and I found the prices very reasonable. My garden is now a haven of scents and useful plants where once it was a concrete, minimalist dead zone. I intend to visit again to extend my collection.
