Chartridge Park Golf Club的点评
点评：I recently returned to play Chartridge having been away from the club for over a decade due to relocating.
This is the club where I learnt the game, so it will always have a special place in my heart. Nonetheless, it was wonderful to see how the course has matured. The trees lining the fairways make it more of a challenge from the tee, however the canopies have been raised on many of the firs surrounding the greens, which not only opens things up and allows more light through, but means the errant shot isn’t punished quite as harshly.
The greens were always the jewel in the crown here, and nothing has changed. If anything, I’d say they’re as pure as I’ve ever seen them, no doubt thanks to an irrigation upgrade.
An additional benefit of this club is the setting overlooking the Pednor Valley. It’s serene, peaceful and beautiful. If it weren’t for the frustrations of the game, you’d truly feel like you were in paradise.
To top it off, it was great to receive such a warm welcome back from Eric and his team. Plenty of familiar faces in the clubhouse too, which is always a good sign of a happy club.
I won’t leave it so long before my next visit!
