How disappointing no cafe !! ☕️ 🥲
门登豪尔冰川的点评
点评：We arrived in Juneau by cruise ship and hired a Jeep to explore the region independently. One of our main stops was the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. Unfortunately, the weather was typical Alaska—cloudy, rainy, and misty—which limited the views somewhat. Even so, the glacier remains an impressive sight, nestled against the mountains and surrounded by stunning natural scenery. I can only imagine how spectacular it would look on a clear, sunny day.
What disappointed us most was the visitor center itself. Given the magnificent location, we were surprised to find there was no café or comfortable place to sit and enjoy the scenery with a coffee or light refreshment. It felt like a missed opportunity, particularly for visitors wanting to spend time appreciating the glacier and surrounding landscape.
We also found the center offered less than we expected in terms of visitor experience. As international travellers, we felt the facilities and overall presentation did not quite match the significance of such a world-famous natural attraction. The complex seemed somewhat underwhelming and lacked the warmth and amenities we had anticipated.
That said, the glacier itself is absolutely breathtaking and remains the star of the experience. Its immense size, brilliant ice formations, and dramatic mountain backdrop make it well worth the visit. The beauty of Mendenhall Glacier is the reason I've given this review four stars despite my disappointment with the visitor center facilities.
