点评:Even though it was cloudy, we had some great views from the train. We boarded the train just a short walk from our ship. There are no refreshments or food on the train, but there are rest rooms in each car. The seats are comfortable and there is a stove in each car if it is cold outside. Each passenger is given a booklet describing the history of finding gold and the ensuing gold rush, which fueled the building of the railroad through White Pass and on into Canada and the Yukon. For a short stretch, you a see the trail that would-be miners had to walk to get over the pass. In addition, the guide gives you the history and other information via speakers in each car. Our guide was very good and funny. You go about 15-16 miles up to Carcross, where the train does a loup and then comes back down the same track. Carcross is in Canada so you don’t get off the train, hence no need for passports. We saw a baby bear feeding on the side of the tracks on the way up. We would definitely recommend this activity and it would be even better on a sunny day.
