螺旋沼泽鸟兽禁猎区的点评
点评：If you love nature and long walks, and not knowing what you might discover, this place is for you. It is not a zoo, so you have to walk slow, keep voices down and really keep an eye out for the wildlife. There is a longer and a shorter walk so you can adjust to your needs. Use the restroom before heading out as there is nothing out there once you start. There is a raised boardwalk, which I love, so it gives you a little separation. When we went back in April we saw a painted bunting, herons, egrets, anhinga, squirrels, lizards, woodpecker, swallowtail kite birds, turtle, and an otter family. This time we saw a teeny lizard about an inch+ long, racoon, two very well camouflaged alligators, and a juvenile barred owl that we spent about 20 minutes watching before he flew away. He was very curious about us and flew from about 30 ft away, to a tree 20 ft, and then about 10 feet. It was an incredible experience. The trees around you are also very cool, and the wildflowers are just gorgeous. Also, don't miss the gift shop. It is filled with beautiful items, one of a kind, hand crafted things and not tourist junk. Also the staff here is always so friendly and helpful. There is also a lot of parking. Can't wait for our next trip!
