Your typical historic village with a twist - this actually existed in situ (for the most part)
Strawbery Banke Museum的点评
点评:Toured on a very (very!) hot day, so I limited myself to maybe 2 - 2.5 hours and didn't have quite the level of interaction with either period interpreters or standard docents that I might normally have done. Still, everyone I encountered was pleasant, some with more depth of information than others. Many of the buildings were open and (mostly) staffed, but perhaps 25% are not accessible. Some open buildings are static displays relating to architecture, preservation or history of the town itself. Interesting content in most though often without AC and temps in the mid-90s did sometimes force me to move on. I'd say it's a good slice of village life museum with the benefit of not being tied solely to 200 years ago (there's a 40's general store for example). One quirk of the site is that you enter into the back of many homes and never see the exterior front - you would have to walk outside the museum and around fending to get a partial glimpse - too hot, that's not quickly accomplished. You could spend 3 hours and probably do it all, taking time to converse and reading more leisurely about Puddle Dock.
