点评:This HAS to be one of my favourite castles in the region! We bought a house in Andalucia over twenty years ago and have made numerous visits to this great castle. Not only is it the largest (by area) in the region, but the location, views and what's on offer there make it a really worthwhile place to visit. The history of the castle and town is well worth investigating. The connection with the Scots and Robert the Bruce and Sir James Douglas makes this special. The history of their contribution here can be seen in the museum inside the restored castle. It's well worth the small entry fee, and the three floors of exhibits are very well laid out and informative.
The visit we undertook in February 2026 was the best for us (of the probably ten visits over the years) due to the clarity of the air, the recent rains and the virtual absence of other people. There's NEVER more than a handful of visitors, and this time, only one other couple was enjoying the scenery and fresh air. Go to Teba. Enjoy the wonderful scenery, visit the museum (if it's open) and wander around the extensive grounds of the castle itself - you won't regret it!
