点评:We visited Oak Alley, Whitney, and Laura in a single day. We ate a late lunch at Oak Alley after visiting the other two plantations which worked well for us as guests are allowed to wander the grounds after the indoor exhibits close at 5:00. Oak Alley was the grandest of the plantations we saw, but the tour and exhibits were clear about the role of enslaved individuals in building the grand house and running the sugarcane operation. We took the Big House tour with David who was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The tour took about an hour and we did not feel we were rushed. The grounds are beautiful and expansive with good exhibits describing the sugarcane industry then and now. We highly recommend the restaurant which is open for breakfast until 5:00. Food was delicious and prices were reasonable. We almost skipped this one - I am glad we didn't!
