点评：While visiting a friend in the area during a rainy Memorial Day weekend, we chose this as an indoor activity — but it deserves a visit even on the sunniest day. It truly earns the title “The Sistine Chapel of America.” After seeing the breathtaking frescoes and hearing the rich history from an incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming tour guide, I almost felt the Sistine Chapel should be called the “St. Ann of Italy.”
The ceilings and walls are covered with stunning frescoes depicting biblical figures, stories, and prophets — both familiar and lesser known. It is an extraordinary place of sacred art and faith.
The site relies heavily on volunteers to help sustain operations, and I hope it continues building partnerships with sacred art organizations such as the Catholic Art Institute, Catholic Artists Society, Society of Catholic Artists, and Formation of Sacred Artists. Places like this deserve not only preservation, but an active community of artists and professionals dedicated to keeping them alive for future generations.
