点评:An absolutely stunning nature reserve, this spot certainly lives up to its namesake and truly is a little garden of Eden!
I visited on a very cold and frosty Saturday morning, using the free car park at the Oakerside Lodge (always a bonus).
There are a number of routes around the dene which allow you to explore the ancient woodlands. There are public footpaths which it’s best to stick to as there are lots of steep areas and deep gorges. There appeared to be walks for most abilities but anyone with mobility issues may struggle, especially in severe weather.
I spent around 3 hours here even in the sub-zero temps. There is so much to take in from Gunner’s Pool Bridge (not for the faint hearted) to Blunts Beck Waterfall, the Devils Lapstone and so much more. It really is a breathtaking place and always worth a visit.
