点评:We have been coming to Kauai for 30 years. Ke’e Beach was always been one of our favorite spots to spend a day and see a sunset. We were here in January 2024. That was the first time we had to experience the shuttle/reservation system. Having to walk the boardwalks with an arthritic hip and not being able to stay past 5:00pm to experience the sunset were very disappointing aspects of that day.
Now we are here again in January 2026. It seems as though the rules about not being able to drive all the way into the parking area at the beach and lifeguard station have not changed. This trip, I am recovering from hip replacement surgery and the walk from the shuttle bus along the boardwalks to the beach seems impossible for me. Also, if everyone needs to leave the beach at 5 PM, there is no hope for seeing the sunset. And it’s ironic because the first time we were ever here on Kauai, people called Ke’e Beach ‘SUNSET BEACH’! Is there any hope for those of us who are handicapped to be able to have access to this Beach by driving to the end of the road and parking there? Also, is there anyway that we can stay long enough to see the sunset as we used to every year that we would come to visit?
