Freerein Riding Holidays的点评
点评：We booked a 2 day learn to ride bespoke tour and were not quite sure what to expect. We arrived and were warmly greeted by our guide. We changed, packed our saddle bags and had a lovely cup of tea with our guide while we discussed what we wanted to get out of the trek.
We then headed out and met our horses, I was luckily paired with Whiskey who is a lovely patient girl but loves to stop and eat at any opportunity! My Mum was paired with Mercury who was very chilled and plodded along as his own pace.
We had a quick basic lesson on how to tack the horses up, we were given a demo and then off we went to tack up ourselves, it was very hands on which we enjoyed as we were learning new things instantly.
Once we tacked up, before we knew it we were on the horses and off we went! We spent a little while getting used to the horses but within a very short time we were trotting and then within a couple of hours we were doing short canters through the Welsh Hills!
The trek is very varied, marshes, roads, common land, it is very varied but the horses are so used to the tracks, they are very steady and unphased. We did encounter some wild ponies which was interesting!
We stopped for lunch in the Hills on both days, which was beautiful and made a change from the busy London that we are used to. Our guide was perfect for us, I think she understood us and what we wanted to get out of the trail, challenging us but also keeping us safe! She gently pushed us to canter and trot for longer periods, slowly building our confidence and still making it fun!
The trip is full on in terms of looking after the horse, you groom, tack, tie up, feed, catch and then remove the tack etc at the end of each day. It is very hands on but very enjoyable and interesting if you are willing to learn!
Included within the trip is a 1 night stay at a lovely, local B&B, 2 course evening meal, breakfast in the morning and packed lunches on both days. We were well fed and so were our horses as we were given extra treats for our horses in our packed lunches! Our horses loved their apples, carrots and Polo's! The trip is very well organised and went without a hitch, our luggage was delivered from Freerein HQ to the B&B and then back again without our input or worry.
The trip exceeded our expectations and I would recommend to anyone that fancies something a little different!
