点评：Incredibly poor experience with this company - my friend and I arrived for a 3 day self-guided tour and were given two horses who were aggressive to each other - we were told to keep them apart as they were lunging/kicking at each other in the stables before we’d even left. We were told one of the horses Gwen ‘hates all other horses’. We asked her to be swapped with a different horse and told it wasn’t possible, and that our horses would ‘calm down’ out on the ride. The opposite happened and what followed was three hours of dangerous riding with a number of narrow escapes on main roads as the horses repeatedly reversed into each other, kicked and reared. The advice to ‘keep them far apart’ was impossible as we had to speak to one another to navigate and open gates for each other. After a particularly terrifying experience where Gwen chased the other horse into a closed gate at the bottom of a lane and my friend almost fell off, we eventually called them and asked to be picked up as we were too scared to continue - only then were we told we were now able to swap horses - far too late as the experience has left neither of us ever wanting to ride again. What followed has been a dire customer service experience re compensating us for the experience - two months later they have accepted no responsibility, and we’ve received no refund - despite at one point being asked for our bank details. We’ve only received repeated offers of a complementary holiday - the last thing we want having lost all trust in the company, and now too afraid to ride again. Sure these self guided rides are fine if you’re an incredibly experienced rider very confident in dealing with challenging horses on busy roads, but otherwise would recommend avoiding - clearly no lessons have been learned from our experience. For reference my friend and I rode a lot as teenagers and are confident in walk/trot/canter but have only ridden every now and then as adults.
