点评：Had an excellent family holiday at Filitheyo. The Werner Lau Dive centre was very good. Very well organised. Plenty of different dive sites to visit by boat; ranging from the gentle bimble to reef hook bending strong currents. As a trio of experienced divers we were left to do our own thing after the comprehensive dive briefings.
The house reef is in good condition compared to many other Maldivian house reefs, with lots to see; inc white tip, grey and black tip sharks, eagle & sting rays, turtles, guitar sharks, two small wrecks at around 30m. Currents can be very strong and we spent quite a lot of time just hooked onto the exit marker ropes watching the world go by at 20+m (see pic). To use the house reef you just turn up at the dive centre when you want and the cylinder chaps will sort you a cylinder (nitrox is free) and then take your kit to your point of entry for you. You leave your cylinder at your point of exit, take the rest of your kit back and tell them where you left the cylinders. The cylinder chaps will advise on the state of the current and which entry points are best.
We only did night dives and visited the wrecks when there was little current. We dived all diveable parts of the island. The east side is not recommended for any activities as strong currents can take you off the reef and next stop is Sri Lanka !
On the South side of the island you have long surface swims before getting to the reef drop off.
We also snorkelled for hours on the house reef.
We have been 13 times to the Maldives and rate Filitheyo as one of the best.
