Enchanted Rock State Natural Area的点评
点评：I discovered Enchanted Rock State Natural Area back in late 1970. Before Tripadvisor.
Being rock climbers my buddies and I were always on the lookout for local climbing and fewer people. I spent many, many weekends here. Even a few weeks once. Now I live in the Hill Country and went back after a long hiatus. I LOVE it more know than ever.However, be advised to plan your trip. It may require an advance pass to be purchased. Cost is $8.00 per person. And, I am glad for that. It helps keep the crowds in control and lessens the impact on the natural area. For me it is much more beautiful now. I have slowed down to check it all out. The granite is a marvelous shade of pink, sharp and crisp. It has a huge granite batholith and the climb to the top of the mountain is totally worth it. You can get fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding from the summit. There are several trail's for every level of experience. Choose wisely. All of the trails are well marked and the park provides a very comprehensive map. Use it. Be mindful of the weather conditions. HOT in the summertime. Awesome in the cooler months. ALWAYS bring water.... Appropriate footwear is highly desirable. The park staff is wonderful and friendly. Their job, I am sure, is difficult enough trying to keep this area pristine. Do your part. Pack your trash out and pick up trash when you encounter it. Beware of your surroundings in the area. There is plenty of wildlife in the area. Stream crossings in some areas need your attention. There are plenty of plants that have there own protection, Stay vigilant. Pets are restricted to the "Loop Trail" and clean up after your pets. There are plenty of amenities to accommodate the needs. This is an absolutely great park. I have enjoyed it for 50 plus years. Hope you do to. Act responsibly for future generations.
