On the hottest day of the year, they closed the lido at 3pm for an hour for a clean

点评：I used to swim in the lido as a child, but the water was invariably freezing, so I was keen to revisit this refurbished pool on a July weekday afternoon when the temperature had reached 32 degrees. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, but the schools were still in session and I wasn't anticipating a queue to get in.
I came on the bus from Ealing, and was surprised to find no information at Uxbridge bus station as to how to get to the leisure centre. I ended up asking - it's one bus stop from the station, on either the U1 or U2. Bus stop name is The Hermitage. From there, you have to walk - no buses go into the road or car park - it takes about 5 minutes. Again, I had to ask directions from the bus driver.
I arrived at 14.45. The queue for tickets at the lido was small. I soon discovered why. The lido was closing in 15 minutes for an hour for a clean. If I wanted a swim in the lido, I could be sold a ticket for 17.00, over two hours later.
Not unnaturally, I decided to check the website. The timetable for the next few days doesn't give any times for the lido in the afternoon. I shall not return.
