点评：We had the Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert, within the park, on our list and were always passing it by. FINALLY made it.
This is a beautiful, drive through, and make many stops park. We drove from Farmington, New Mexico, to Williams, Arizona, driving through the park. The day was nice, partly cloudy to cloudy with occasional light rain, and temperatures in the mid 70s.
The elevation is from 5,300 to 6,200 feet above sea level so those not used to higher altitudes may struggle here with exertion.
There are several visitor centers and they should not be missed, they are not repetitive in presentation.
Expect to be awed by the way Mother Nature used her paintbrush in the Painted Desert and appreciate what Father Time, water, and minerals have done to the trees that were on the plains of this area for millions of years.
This is a great place for young children.
Bring food and stay hydrated.
